Hi ladies,
I'm 26+3 and my son is due his pre-school jabs in the next month. I'm just wondering if there is any risk to the baby? I know some jabs u are injected with a small dose of the actual disease/virus so that ur body fights it and builds up some immunity so is it possible that I could then catch anything from my son that could potentially harm the baby?

This may be a really stupid question but my friend and I were just discussing the jabs as her son's appointment is coming up and it just got me thinking and slightly worrying Confused thank u x

I wouldn't have thought. My logic would say that as you are immune to the conditions and can't catch it from your son, your baby can't either seeing as you share the same bloodstream.

They would be my thoughts but that's not to say I'm right Smile.

My friend has got a daughter and when she had her pre-school jab, my friend was 36 weeks pregnant and I know she went along to the appointment with no concerns.

Definitely best to ask the GP though so you know for sure - the last thing you want is for it to be playing on your mind x

Y'know it never even occurred to me about my own immunity, I've just been anxious during this pregnancy as we lost our last baby. I will double check with gp before just for peace of mind. Thanks for ur reply x
