Going Incognito...

Being overweight, I decided that while waiting for my cycle to fix itself (6 years of implanon) I'd get myself in better shape, lose weight, etc...

But I've ended up building a rod for my own back Sad

I've fallen pregnant much much sooner than either me or DP anticipated (I blame my super eggs- didn't even have a period! ). So, all colleagues, friends, family etc have been quite aware that I've been working hard (doesn't help that my gym is in work, and my routine that the trainer is quite vigorous and high intensity...and I go with work friends)

I'm also a severe hay fever sufferer.

Soooo...I have to drastically change my diet as it's been quite restrictive, hugely reduce my caffeine intake (I normally drink a hell of a lot of coffee and am quite known for it) stop drinking, and sit there with horrific hay fever despite being offered pills.

Yet practically everyone I know was suspecting pregnancy when I quit smoking, and that was just 1 change!

Obviously, there are more aspects to that people will clock on to, but these are the ones that will really raise questions. Well, other than the fact that my boobs are VERY noticeably bigger (practically comedy knockers now Shock )

Anyone got any ideas how I can go incognito until 12 weeks? I'm going to tell family but I'd really hoped to keep the early days private. x

I'm sure my friend was told hat fever meds are ok - do double check!

Jo advice otherwise really ... Could giving up caffeine be part of the health kick?

Hmm...the pharmacist I spoke to said I'd need to get a prescription from the doctor for them and they'd only give them to me in exceptional circumstances (ie...consistently horrific hayfever rather than consistently crappy and only occasionally horrific) and then said that she couldn't sell me any. Silly me for buying them at the same time as my prenatal vitamins I suppose! x

Tell people you've just taken a tablet for your hayfever when they offer. Switch to decaf and say its part of getting healthy
Have a quiet word with your personal trainer

CatsCantFlyFast · 30/07/2013 18:42

Or stop your gym entirely and tell people you've joined one outside work instead so you can go after work with OH (or something like that)
Work on changing your diet for meals you don't have at work eg breakfast and dinner and keep your lunch similar to what you are having now (provided its healthy and permitted you can get everything else you need from the other 2 meals)

Some of those are doable until I start showing - thanks Grin

The gym needs a rethink - I work with my OH so we're part of the same gym circle lol. x

Pull a muscle / hurt your back and be sworn off anything other than gentle exercise by your doctor for 6 weeks while you have imaginary physio

I'll officially hurt my leg tomorrow Wink Just hope all these things in combination isn't too much Confused

Don't worry too much about it. Hurt your leg first (gym sorted), lie about hayfever tabs (nobody will notice that) don't make any dramatic changes to food and conceal the coffee. To you it sounds a lot but from the outside they probably won't notice anything other than decaf and gym
