Accupuncture anyone?!

Hi, I am due any day now and my midwife recommended I try accupuncture ( I have a family history of long pregnancies ) which is free at my local hospital for what they call 'natural induction'. Has anyone had any success with this? One of the reasons I am going for it is that obviously its natural but that if I end up needing a medical induction I won't be able to use their apparently amazing birth centre. What usually happens in treatment?

Hi there. I had acupuncture to encourage my DS2 to make an appearance. From what I remember, I had just had lots of needles stuck in my ankles and feet. It was pain free and it worked a treat. I've tried every induction method I've heard of and it's the only thing that worked (apart from medical induction). Go for it...good luck!

Thanks :) I'm not against medical induction but it seems like this free accupuncture offer is too tempting not to take up. I just hope I'm not making a mistake by not letting nature take its course. My first treatment is booked for after my due date though
