Wedding in London - young baby

Hi All

Apologies I am not sure whether this was the right board to put this on, but as I am currently pregnant I thought I would use this one!

We have a wedding in September when our baby will be anywhere from 4 weeks to 8 weeks old.

We are based in the midlands and the wedding is in Putney. We are debating what will be the best way of getting to and from the wedding with such a young child.

The options are to get the train down and then tube from St Pancras, drive to Putney Bridge or drive somewhere else and then get the train in.

We are not that confident about driving in London but then I worry about getting the tube with all the stuff we will need! Fulham are also playing on the same day so am expecting traffic to be fun!

I would really appreciate your thoughts on what will be the most managable option!

Thanks for your help

Are you going to stay over? I'd recommend booking a cab if you can afford it. An Addison Lee from Kings X to Putney shouldn't be too ruinous but you can get a quote in advance to see if the cost of th return journey is reasonable. Worth asking around if anyone is doing a similar journey to share the cab and the cost.

I would definitely not want to be taking the tube with all the stuff you will inevitably bring for a new baby on first weekend away!
Driving in London is not as bad as it seems, once you do it for the first time ...so that would be my first option
Train as far as you can get, and then a taxi would be my second choice. Daylight robbery probably, but there are just times when you have to say that the ease is worth every penny.

Alternatively ...would someone local come to the sation and collect you?

Addison Lee from King's Cross to Putney would be about £30 each way.
