Hi all .. I have been told last Thursday that i have had a missed miscarriage ... There was a yolk sac and gestation sac 3 weeks ago measuring 3mm. The following 2 weeks later the sac had grown to 17mm with a yolk sac and fetal pole present .. they then told me that there was no progression and that they will give it the benefit of the doubt and re scan me the following week. I went to for another scan like i said last Thursday only to be told that there was no progression and i was experiencing a 4th missed miscarriage.
Could there be a chance that they are wrong as Its been 2 weeks now and no sign of pain, spotting or cramping etc ... has any one been through this and the outcome ending up a happy one and them getting it wrong?
Please help me im going insane as i am still having sore boobs some nausea and fatigue ...

I'm so sorry, chevchina. I don't think that they would have confirmed an mmc unless they were sure. Thinking of you Flowers

Hi chev, I have had 2 MMCs: The first one was discovered and 12 weeks and the baby had stopped growing at 5,5 weeks. I had no pregnancy symptoms whatsover so I thought OK obviously things weren't going well (and I thought I was one of the lucky ones who had very easy pregnancies...). My next pregnancy was very different (nausea, swollen belly quite early on), everything went well and I had a beautiful DD who is now 2,5 yrs old. I got pregnant again when she was 16 months old and I had all the pregnancy symptoms I had with DD - nausea, bump, tiredness...At my 12 week scan we found out it was another MMC, the baby had stopped growing at 7,5 weeks...It was a big shock, I was certain things were going well thanks to all the pregnancy symptoms I had - obviously, I was wrong. I am now 26 weeks pregnant with number 2 - this time I've been less nauseous that I was with DD but after what happened last time, I don't trust symptoms at all, only scans...I have to add that I had no cramping, bleeding or pain with either missed miscarriage and ended up having ERPCs both times

I'm sorry this is not the positive message you were hoping for but both times I wished I had known the truth sooner rather than later. I'm so sorry you're going through this, it is absolutely horrible - I really feel for you... Did I read your message right - have you had 4 missed miscarriages? If yes, were the other 3 very different i.e. you had no symptoms at all?

I'm sorry you're going through this, chevchina. It sounds unlikely that they're wrong, I'm really sorry Sad BUT you must be satisfied in your own mind that the pregnancy really is over before you progress to ERPC or similar. What has it been recommended you do now? How many weeks are you?

Come and join us on the recurrent mc thread if you like. There's plenty of support, discussion and hand-holding. Flowers

thank you girls for your kind responses .. im so sorry for all your losses ... its the worst thing that could ever happen to a mum ... yes Pentagon i have had 4 missed miscarriages ... the first one was our DD at 17 weeks, the 2nd lasted 6 weeks and the third was very early in deed ... and this one would be our 4th .. i have a re scan Tomorrow to confirm it as my midwife said its been 2 weeks and with it being 2 weeks from when they told me i should have had some symptoms by now .. so she booked me in tomorrow to re scan me .. so it was her decision not mine .. i am suppose t be 8 weeks but it was measuring 5.3 weeks a week ago ... we shall see what happens ill keep u all posted .. thank you all again xx

Chevchina I stumbled across your message and want to wish you luck and strength for today. I went through my 4th miscarriage which sounds similar to your story in June. I was on progesterone and having early scans because of prev MC, but it was all over at 9 weeks after a few weeks of scans showing inadequate growth. It's a very difficult thing to wait it out, I was almost relieved when they finally said it was over Sad
I'm on the same recurrent miscarriage thread as Picardy on the miscarriage board, do come and join us, however today goes. We have success stories with ongoing pregnancies, women just starting down the road of investigations, and all stages of hope and despair in between. It can be very isolating, I don't know anyone IRL who has lost more than two babies, it does really help to have some company.
