Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows if you can get anti depressants/ sleeping tablets when pregnant? Or would I be wasting my time going to the GP?

I was on anti depressants during my first pregnancy, there are definitely safe ones. But I suffered badly from anxiety aswell but they won't give you anything for that - sedatives are a no-no because they affect the baby.

I was on amitriptiline which is very sedative when I was pregnant

Yes - definitely worth seeing someone. Please contact your GP first thing tomorrow ( or even someone tonight if you are really feeling that low) . There are lots of antidepressants that you can take during pregnancy. It will get better.

I took sertraline through bf #1, pg and bf #2 and pg and bf #3.

Safe, the doctors and hospital pharmacist told me.
