Depends on how far along you are? I doubt that an internal scan would cause a miscarriage tbh.

The spotting can either be the start of a miscarriage or not. For many women it isn't. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that everything is fine.

I've had loads of internal scans with miscarried pregnancies and two healthy pregnancies. I know it seems invasive and even I at one point thought they were causing miscarriages, but they really don't go that far up to cause damage.

When you're so early on in pregnancy, sometimes abdominal scans don't show anything especially if you have a tilted uterus so an internal one is necessary.

Sorry you're going through this. If you've already had 3 miscarriages you should have been offered a variety of tests to investigate what might be wrong. Have you had these yet?

hi xxemmamxx111 i think its highly unlikely that a internal scan would cause mc i had a mc last year had a internal i had a mmc im now 26w preg had a early internal scan so dont be worried if your about 8 weeks they will do a tummy scan if your earlier it would have to be internal best of luck Brew
