Lies I can use to avoid food & drink I can't have while we wait to reach the safe zone

So I found out Friday I'm pg Smile baby #1 and has taken 4 months!

Anyway, back to the question. Am being good and avoiding alcohol and food I shouldn't eat but I know my mum will clock on to why I'm not having them Grin eg. I eat my steak as rare as rare comes, love soft boiled eggs and soldiers and could eat pâté until he cows come home. Both her and my dad are either coming to stay, or were going to them in September probably, but I won't be at the 12 weeks until I think early October. Any suggestions for what I can use for lies for the time being?

We told both sets of parents straight away but I found I was pg a week or so before my works Christmas party!! So had to find an excuse as to why I wasn't drinking! I used the antibiotics story, worked a treat :) If any of the foods came up, I just said I didn't fancy them. Managed to get thru it all just about!

I did the tonic without gin thing as well and just laughed a lot.

But keep well away from cats because they will drop you in it every time they seam to have inbuilt pregnancy detectors.

I used to pretend to drink in big groups, after a couple nobody even noticed. Could say you're on the 5.2 and fasting on the days you are seeing people.

Just wanted to offer support. I wouldn't tell my family until 20 weeks. I'm very private and I wanted it to be my secret as long as possible.

A recent tummy bug is a good excuse. Then you can just say you are still feeling fragile.

All meat DOES need to be cooked through. Look up toxoplasmosis to find out why, and then ignore the previous wrong advice.

Thanks for the advice everyone Smile this morning I made the emotional phone call and broke the news to my parents and dh broke it to his dad this evening. Think we've made grandparents happy already!

Am hoping we won't see anyone until I'm over 3 months (as nasty as that sounds Grin) will have a read on the nhs website. Things seem to change so frequently!
