''Take a gold or silver ring and tie it to a thin thread. Hold it over your belly while you are lying down. If the ring swings in a circular motion, then you are having a girl. If it swings straight back and forth, then are you having a boy.'' ... so the old saying goes ...

DH suddenly wanted to try it last night! For a laugh we had a go. We used cotton and he dangled the ring over my tum. It did lots of spinning, but swung in quite obvious circles at the same time! We did it 3 times - all circles. So girl then?!

We have no idea of the gender of the baby yet. It's 4 weeks till my 20 week scan when we might get an idea if the ring was right Grin

Have you had a go?
(this is just for fun and a little bit of genuine curiosity )

I did it twice, first time said a boy, second time said a girl.

I was told I was having a boy, then later found out I was having a girl! So it's either a load of rubbish or VERY accurate.

Mine swung side to side and I'm having a boy :)

My mum did this to my bump but with a crystal on a string, it was practically orbiting my bump it was circling so widely! And it is indeed a girl Smile

Mine said I was having a boy... And I am.

The only thing is different websites swap the circle/side to side gender predictor results. Ie one says side to side is a boy and one says circles is a boy.

Good luck :)

It was correct for all of my children. It think there must be some science behind it, as I don't believe in anything supernatural.

My friend did the crystal and it told me boy... we still have 13 weeks to wait to find out if she's right.
When she tried it on herself, the result was inconclusive so we suspect it "doesn't work" if you do it on yourself. She found out the next day she is having a boy anyway.
Not a believer but love having predictions for people who have "never been wrong". I am loving (and also hating!) the anticipation!!

Just tried it and apparently it's a boy although told it was a girl at my scan! Smile
