Very exciting. Good luck.

Ring them now and ask for their advice.

Exciting stuff! Good luck!

You can call and see what thery say, depends how far along you are, usually they tell you to take a paracetomol and have a bath, then if the pain does'nt subside it means it is most likely contractions.

LeahE · 10/06/2006 00:26

Generally ring them when they are lasting at least... umm... 45 seconds - 1 minute and are at least every 3-5 minutes, I think (can't believe I can't remember the exact recommendation when it was so drummed into me at the time). Or if your waters break. Or if you are concerned or just seeking reassurance and want to talk to them.

Congratulations and good luck!

You'll know when you need to ring the hospital! When you can't speak (or type) through your contractions you should probably think about making a move. Why don't you give the ward a ring and see what they say? I reckon you could wait until they are 5 mins apart though, unless you know you labour quickly. Good luck! :)

i was due thursday, but went in tuesday as had watery discharge, and went back in today as had watery pink discharge, both times it was mucous plug...however today midwife said head is fully engaged and cervix looks like it is about to open

soooo afraid to ring too soon incase they think im neurotic (sp?)

what if its braxtons!

if i have bath im scared i wont get dried and ready in time incase labour progresses really quickly (2nd child)...

ooo wasnt like this with ds at all, had him 5days early and that was that!

it all feels so new, never thought i would feel so ignorant this time around Blush

Every birth is different bubbly! Don't worry about what they might think of you at hospital, if you want to speak to someone ring them, that's what they're there for.

bubbly1973 · 10/06/2006 00:30

ok, thanks girls, will ring when they are about 5mins apart, im bricking it now! all that waiting and its about to happen!!

Good luck bubbly! I'm not normally up as late as this but have been catching up on the Big Brother that I have recorded over the last few days. Didn't realise the time. Glad I have now to hear this exciting news. Smile
