Underwire bras- are they a big nono? One books says YES! That they damage milk ducts etc, is this true? I am 24 weeks now.
Also, I think I have started leaking, when I take bras off there are ... patches... for want of a better word and (SORRY TMI!!!) it is all crusty. Is this possible?

I don't know but would love to as I am 23 weeks and still wearing my inderwired bras as only thing that is comfortable x

Underwired are fine as long as they fit properly ie don't sit on any breast tissue.

You can grow a lot - I'm up 3 cups and 1 back size at 29 weeks.

Get properly fitted (generally not at M&S) and keep an eye on changing size.

Also, leaking is not an issue and actually quite common. Get some breast pads and don't worry!

Anything is right, so long as your bras are well fitted there shouldn't be a problem. However as you'll be changing size and shape you might be a bit comfier in something without an underwire as it'll have a little more give.

My baby is 18 months old and when I found out I was pregnant I vowed I would not ever wear a non wired bra as I have always worn them and I have always had big boobs, but at about 20 weeks I was in so much pain with my wired bra's digging in to me that I ran to m&s to be sorted out with some non wired but still supportive and very comfortable bras which I would recommend to anyone. Wired bras can be damaging as your boobs grow a lot when pregnant and more quickly and it's important that nothing digs in anywhere. I would say after 20 weeks or so it's time to go for non wired. I'm keeping mine for next time anyway.
