Annoying things people say to pregnant women

"Was it planned?" Like it's your business if our contraception works!
"You're pregnant again?!" Errrr yes and what?
"Not long left then ay?" - ok to you 4 weeks may seem like nothing, to a heavily pregnant woman in the middle of a heatwave its forever!
"God it seems like you've been pregnant for ages!" - Again do you think i need reminding?
"God you're big" - Yes and i don't need reminding of the huge lump i have to carry around every day preventing me from doing things "normal" people can do, and will then have to somehow push out of a very small hole.
"What would you prefer a boy or a girl?" I'm really not that bothered!
Even worse - "Oh i bet you wanted a girl/boy" after you've found out it is the opposite or if you can even imagine anyone doing this (they do) IN FRONT OF that girl/boy!!

Also i hate the way people think they own your bump and can touch it whenever they feel. i like my personal space as much as you!!

Also i can imagine this would annoy some non-pregnant people "oooooh you want to get a move on and have a baby. time's getting on now." Firstly do i need reminding i'm getting on, secondly maybe i don't want a baby, thirdly maybe i am trying for a baby and haven't been successful yet!"

Dawnybabe, I've started a new thread under 'Pets' (sorry - not sure how to add a link.) Hope to see you there.

I don't know what sex my baby is but one mum of two I got talking to in the park told me 'Oh it's definitely a boy' as I'm carrying all in front. I said 'Maybe, but my sister carried just like this and hers was a girl' only to be told acidly 'It's your first, what would you know?' Keep forgetting I'm not supposed to know anything or have any opinions as I've not yet been initiated into the club... Wink

everyone says to me... "ohhh your still here then??" like im planning to go anywhere after the baby comes! im not overdue until thursday either!

I hated "Tired? You don't know the meaning of tiredness until you've had a baby!" and then "you don't know you've got 1 until you've got 2"

F* Off!

I stopped telling people I was planning a home birth because I couldn't be ar**d with the comments and the best one..

A special care midwife who I know practically had a heart attack and practically begged me not to have a home birth or go to the midwife led unit as she has seen too many babies die!

I had a fab delivery at home.

the thing that peed me off the most definately has to be my boss...a bloke.he told me that hed just found out his son and his gf were expecting and they were 26 which in his books was still way too young so as for 21 year old me...well!
he was then lovely to proceed with..well its done now, not alot you can do about it..i think youre a muppet..he then popped off and came back with a lager for me....which i shouldve thrown in his face but threw down the sink instead when he had gone.....unfortunately i need the job...what an arsehole

steff1stbabysep06 · 20/06/2006 10:30

infact i think the whole human race is out to get you when your expecting.....some people are just jealous like a girl i know who i know for a fact has told people she cant wait to have a baby.she came out with "oh is it a girl or a boy?" girl i say to which she says, oh are you happy about that, i would go mad if i found out i was having a girl i only want a boy".what a good mum shes going to make.she then asked me "was it planned?" to which i said no, but i am so happy about it.She then said with a smug grin "oh im going to plan mine so everything will be just perfect...anyway im only 21 so i want to make the most of having a life first" i am 21!!! I just took great pleasure in the fact of knowing that she is green with envy and would kill to be me ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!

more
*in a really condescending tone "ooh are you preggars?" agggh
*ooh arent you small?
*your not having your baby here are you?.....i live in spain and all i get is comments about how i should go back to the uk to have the baby
every day i come home from work with something new to worry about that hasnt concerned me before!!!! its driving me nutttts...sorry to go on!!

Piggiesmum · 20/06/2006 10:43

Karma - i had those comments as well except in our case it was "will you be getting rid of the guineapigs" What!!!????

Or "you won't have time to look after the guineapigs once the baby's here".
What really? Then how on earth do people with more than one child cope then you moron. Grrrrr

I have to get this off my chest but last week after an already knackering day looking after my batty old nan i let rip at her when she told me that it was a shame im expcting another ds.
i called her a wicked witch, said that all babies are precious and stomped off to buy my ds1 a very boyish superman toy.
