ultrasound girl or boy?

i had a private ultrasound today i am 30 weeks. Now my goal was to find out if we are having a girl or a boy. However on the scan there are 3 lines however it is very pointy like a willy. Do i say girl as 3 lines and she is just very swollen?

What did the sonographer say? Didn't they tell you one way or the other? If the genitals could be seen, they should have been able to interpret them.

We were all looking the genitals were clear however there were 3 lines but shaped like a willy. She says she thinks girl because of the 3 lines but it is uncertain. She has actually keep a pic to show another colleague to see what they think.

Hm, that is confusing. It seems your baby is determined to remain a surprise!

Was it a private scan specifically for gender revealing? Do they rescan if the sonographer can't tell the gender? I know some places do if it was specifically paid to see gender, not just a general scan.

If not, I would just tell people that the baby wasn't prepared to show their stuff to the world and everyone will have to wait another few weeks.....

It was a growth scan so it wasnt solely for gender. But we were looking for ages. She said she would ask her collegue for advice and if they disagree with girl then they would let us know. I would post a pic up if i could on here so you can see how confusing it is!

Ah! How frustrating for you.

I was extremely nosy with both my pregnancies and wanted to know gender. Luckily both DS1 & DS2 were keen to waggle their bits on screen in a way that left us in no doubt. They clearly looked very male.

If family/friends ask, I'd probably just say they couldn't see clearly enough, they suspect it might be a girl but everyone will have to wait and see. It will keep the suspense going for a little bit longer....

(Maybe buy a lot of neutral colours and white?)

when they show gender its usually a toilet shot,so boys look kind of mushroomy,girls are 3 lines,theres not usually ANY lines with a boy.

I must admit i have alot of neutral clothes already so we are set. I do think its a girl because of the 3 lines. Just wanted to see if anyone had had the same issue or could definately tell me as i have read stories that sometimes it can look like a girl but be a boy and vice versa. But we will wait and see but in must admit i have seen some nice girly clothes but i wont buy just in case :) thank you for your input :)

All 3 of my DS have very proudly and clearly showed off their willies at our 20w scan. Very very obviously a willy when looking from up between their legs. Definitely no lines.

This is what i was thinking. As i have a girl and boy already. Im going to stick with pink. Find out on 18th sept :)

Apparently the clitoris looks bigger than the rest until quite close to the birth as the labia doesn't grow to normal size until quite late. That could explain why it looked like that?

I know that a girl vagina can appear very swollen. But that would explain that thank you :)

Its also worrying when the sonographer is baffled as well. But im going to say girl. Only 7 weeks to go so we shall see :)

When she's a teenager and being difficult, you can justifiably mutter "argh, you were even contrary before birth".

Haha this is very true!! Already i know she is going to be a mischief! :)
