Maxi Cosi Question - does anyone know the answer

Hi there, I'm thinking of buying a maxi cosi car seat (I'm soon to be first time mom so clueless about these things)
The one I saw was the Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix Group 0. Firstly does this go on a bugaboo chameleon? Secondly, do I need to buy anything to fix to the car itself - a friend of mine said something about an Isofix base, what is it and do I have to buy that separately?
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi we have a cameleon and yes the maxicosi cabrio and pebble both fit (you have to buy adapters £30 roughly). However the pebble is a nightmare to get on and off and the straps are awful for please don't buy that (cabrio might be better). However you can use practically any car seat as long as you buy the required adapters and bugaboo make them for most makes of car seat. You can fix the car seat with the seat belt but most people find it quicker and easier to buy a base and this stays in the car and the seat just clicks in - very simple.

Not sure about the bugaboo but you don't need the isofix base to put it in the car - you can just strap it in with seatbelt. Having said that, the isofix base is brilliant. It makes getting the seat in and out much easier and even beeps when you get it right (great for technophobes like me!)

As Boggler said, the cabrio fix attaches to the cameleon with the special adapters. Works really well.

You don't need an isofix base for the car. We used the seatbelt the first time around then bought an isofix for ease the second. Great car seat and great pram/buggy!
