I'm so bloody grumpy

Since yesterday I just feel so horrifically grumpy, like an inner rage, pmt x 1000. I'm 38+2, please tell me it will go away soon and tell me how to deal with it.

Dd (23 months) is at dmil's for the afternoon so I can relax but I don't feel relaxed at all, just dead uptight inside. I feel like I don't want to see anyone because they'll wind me up. How can I chill out and be a nice person again? I've got 1 hour before I have to pick dd up.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm over due 40 + 4 and feel like I'm dying. I'm so fed up with everyone...sick of talking to my DH, hate it when my mum or anyone calls to ask me if I've popped yet (no I frigging haven't so stop asking 10 times a day!!) and am just generally uncomfortable and in pain. No advice unfortunately but just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

BeanoNoir · 26/07/2013 16:04

Thank you. 40+4 that's a nightmare. Hopefully things will start happening for you soon. I know it's hormones but I'd rather be all teary and down than angry, at least I wouldn't feel like such a bitch then. I've been avoiding phone calls because it's winding me up so much just that the phone is ringing! I really hope this passes and doesn't keep going until labour.

Thanks. I'm in latent labour so having contractions but its all happening very slowly and mainly at night so I haven't slept in ages. Hopefully it will pass for you. Maybe try going out, watching a film, see a friend for a coffee...might help.

Know exactly how you feel, Beano-also 38+2 today and in a foul, foul mood with EVERYBODY. My toddler is insane and my mum is annoying me literally every time she speaks. Cannot wait to pop and be able to walk up 2 stairs without getting out of breath. GRRR.

BeanoNoir · 26/07/2013 19:58

Yes! I'm sorry you're feeling that way but also glad it's not just me!

I'm spreading out my wine rations now, just having a couple of sips a night, to give me a slight nice relaxy feeling, probably placebo effect but I'm looking forward to it when dd finally falls asleep.

Trying to plan lots of things so that I don't mind if baby's late. Had my hair cut and eyebrows threaded today, and this weekend painting walls and sanding and painting skirting boards in new baby's room before carpet gets fitted on Tues - so I'm kind of thinking don't come until after Tues now. Going to keep trying to come up with reasons I'm not ready for baby to come yet in the hope that it will mean he'll come early to stop me getting impatient and even more grumpy!

Oh no you've reminded me I haven't phoned my mum back yet. I was way too grumpy to talk to her earlier, my blood was boiling just because the phone dared to ring when I was trying to calm down a bit Grin

Wow, you are doing well to be painting and sanding! I can barely lift myself off the sofa! I am extra grumpy today at thought of tending to toddler all day while DH does the DIY. So fed up of feeling useless now and other people not understanding how hard it is lugging all this extra weight around! Really want everyone to just go away so I can lie down and watch a box set!

clabsyqueen · 27/07/2013 10:42

38+5 here and also a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Glad I'm not alone. My Toddler/heat/noisy neighbours/anything you can think of really are all guaranteed to send me off the deep end. Arghhhhhhhh.....

HelgatheHairy · 27/07/2013 14:23

I'm 38+6 and am either grumpy or crying. Often both at the same time! My mother is seriously annoying at the moment. Too long a story to go into but she is seriously cracking me up and calling me every day when I can't do anything about the situation. I see her number on caller id and just want to ignore it now!

parttimer79 · 27/07/2013 14:43

Yes, just yes to all of the above. 38 +2 exhausted, weepy, grumpy, can't bear to be around anyone (except DP and even he is pushing it at times).
Anyone else feeling sick too? Am hoping it is an early labour sign!

BeanoNoir · 27/07/2013 17:41

Must be something to do with being 38 weeks! It's like we're so near and yet still so far.....

I'll be venting on this thread and also trying not to spot early signs of labour (who am I kidding). Waters broke with dd at 39+1 but I'm trying not to think of that as the magic date. Best to look at 42 weeks and be pleasantly surprised I think.

Reebok I wonder how you're going?

Anybody else got any signs? Feeling sick's a good one...
I had heavy feeling like period's coming 2 days ago but alas it's gone now.

Have spent the day painting the baby's room, dh taken toddler out..I've actually been a little bit less grumpy for being active.

Not long now for all of us Grin

Beano unfortunately not. I had contractions all last night until early this morning so another night of no sleep. 40+5 and counting...but have decided not to let it get to me and just carry on as usual. Baby will come when she wants to. Hope you're feeling a bit happier today Beano. X

AllEyeEatIsCake · 27/07/2013 17:56

Good news! I was absolutely horribly grumpy for the whole of week 38. Then weeks 39-40 calmed down and was more pleasant to be around. I wonder if it is more common than we think. Baby popped out at exactly 41 weeks and I instantly felt better. Even had a celebratory lie on my belly. Not long to go now ladies. Vent away - totally cathartic!

BeanoNoir · 27/07/2013 19:28

Excellent! I'm nearly halfway through 38 weeks, bring on 39!

Reebok you must be so frustrated but try and think that with each contraction your baby is getting closer to being born. One less contraction to have to go through! Hope things speed up for you soon though Smile

Thanks Beano! Hoping my hospital won't let me go over 42 weeks!

MsFiremanSam · 27/07/2013 20:30

No signs Hmm hope that my mood improves at 39 weeks, I'll have no friends left otherwise!
