Sorry if this is a ridiculous post but i just wanted to vent!

Im 21+4 with first baby and im so scared!
Last week i had some funny looking discharge around 2 hours after having a bath..
Sorry for the dirty description, but it looked a bit like snot and the jelly stuff that you chop off tinned spam before u cook it! I rang my mum panicing and she said it sounded like mucus plug. But being only 20 weeks at the time this cant be right?

At the beginning of my lregnancy i had to have an internal and was told i have a 'friable cervix' which means its very thin and can dilate early. Sometimes causing preterm labor!!

I rang midwife the night of the discharge and she didnt seem bothered at all and kinda dismissed me. Ive seen a midwife since and mentioned to her what happened and about my cervix and all she did was check babys heartrate - which was fine. But i havent had any aswers to anything! Ive had horrible pains which i THINK are braxton hicks but they're very low down. Just underbeath my bump/knicker line. Shoukd i ask for another internal?

Im just so scared of going into early labor and losing my baby -- does the discharge sound like a mucus plug? And has anybody else had a friable cervix with a succesful pregnancy?

Sorry to chat on!x

Sorry I don't have any advice and I'm sure someone who does will be along soon. Although I think you should ask for another internal if it would help put you at ease.

I just wanted to offer some hand holding Flowers

Maybe a scan of your cervix would be helpful, to check length and shape and that would reassure you.

If you have pain and you're worried, then I believe now you're over 20 weeks you can contact the hospital that you're booked into (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I would call them for advice, explain all the above.

My placenta is low lying, I'm 22 weeks and my consultant advised calling the hospital directly if I have any concerns (or blood).

They thought I had a thin and soft cervix at 27 weeks with ds3 so I went for a scan but it turned out it was just soft as it wasn't my first baby. I also got the jelly like discharge and they tested for infection which all came back clear, it happened a few times. Def worth getting checked though.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that the mucus plug can go and then reform several times throughout pregnancy, according to lots of things I've read. I also asked my midwife this and she said its not a sign that you're going into labour. My friends plug went at 30 weeks but she didnt have her baby until 40+ weeks. Having said that I would go to triage to get them to check your cervix, definitely. But I'm sure it's fine! Good luck x
