I had the whooping cough jab 24 hours ago

and now I feel ill. Could it be a side effect of the jab? Anyone else had this?

The picture is slightly muddied by the fact that my urine showed slight signs of infection yesterday and the midwife sent it off. I phoned the surgery, they have no idea when the results will be back but it is up to me to phone them and find out.

I also have an infected graze on my knee which seems to be getting worse, not better and is throbbing madly.

I am a mess Grin My thermometer is broken and I have no idea if I have temp or not. I don't know what is making me feel ill

I had the jab a couple of weeks ago and felt quite ill for a couple of days so it could well be side effects.

I hope it passes quickly.

thanks - it does seem rather a coincidence. Plus my arm bloody hurts today

I felt dreadful for 24 hours after the jab. Mainly just incredibly exhausted to the point of tears. It passed! Hope you feel better, OP.

If you had signs of an infection t thbefore the jab then i'd say it was more that the the jab as it's not live.

thanks everyone

I realised that it is not just a whooping coughn jab, it is tetanus as well (I should have know it was a multiple jab). The last time I had a tetanus I felt ill 24 hours later, though WHY I don't know as it is not live...

I feel a bit better today but still knackered.

I'm not in the least bit medical but it makes sense to me that if your body is putting in energy building antibodies it could result in you feeling more tired than usual or even lowering your immune system. So it's not directly caused by the jab, but a knock-on effect. As I say, I have no idea what I'm talking about but it sounds reasonable! Happy to be contradicted by someone with some actual knowledge Smile
