Hi,

I have a beautiful 9 month old ds who is my world but real hard work at times and sleeping is not great.

I have in the last couple of days found out I am pregnant again! I'm not sure how far.gone i am yet but am pretty sure im over 5 weeks. I have a midwife appointment in a week also.

Seriously though dh and i are happy but not sure I am going to cope well with 2 so close together. Definitely going ahead with pregnancy but can anyone offer me any advice and tell me it's going to be ok? Confused

I had 13 months between mine, I remember the shock of realising that I was 2 months pregnant on the day DS turned 6 months. It took ages for the shock to wear off.

I'll be totally honest, being pregnant and looking after DS was hard, once DD actually arrived it was much easier.
I just changed 2 nappies instead of 1, I bathed them together etc, just take it easy and you will be fine.

And it's fun, really and congratulations too Smile

I found out I was pregnant with ds2 when ds1 was 9 months old. They are now 3.5 and 2. I feel with ds2 the first month after coming off contraception and as it had taken 6 months to conceive ds1 I honestly didn't think I would fall so quickly so it was a bit of a shock for us. I did struggle a little while pregnant but in a way I appreciated having ds1 to keep me active. I pushed myself because I had to care for him which I think was a good thing.

The first few months were hard but I'm not sure that was just the age gap because ds2 is a demanding little chap and would have been hard work even if he'd been our 1st. I only felt a couple of months ago that I was ready to consider dc no3 because ds2 has always been such a handful.

Now they are a bit older its great having a small age gap as they enjoy a lot of the same things and play together really well. In hindsight I wouldn't change the age gap we had because while it was hard its been worth it.

I got my bfp for dc no3 on Saturday so it can't be that bad as were excited to adding to our family again!

Congratulations on your bfp and don't worry too much because you will find a way :)

Firstly, congratulations! Secondly, you'll be fine when the shock wears off... My DS1 was 9 months old when I found out I was pregnant with twins. My twin DD's then decided to turn up 11 weeks early so there was only 15 months between them and DS1. Yes it was blooming hard work in those early years but we survived it and muddled through. At least you're still at the baby stage so have all the equipment etc. and know what to expect. You'll love watching the interaction between siblings.

It can't have been that bad for us coz three years later we went on to have DS2! Good luck and I hope you enjoy your pregnancy.
