Hello everyone, I know you get bloating in the first trimester but this is ridiculous. Im not too bad in the morning but by the afternoon im massive and cant do my trousers up! It feels too early to buy maternity clothes. Anyone else struggled with this or got any suggestions??

Elastic band through the button hole & looped over the button will give you a bit more life in existing trousers.

Some people just show, or grow around the middle sooner than others. First pregnancy i started wearing mat trousers at 8 weeks, this pregnancy i was in them at 5 weeks. They are much more comfortable than normal waistbands.

if you can bear it maternity trousers really are comfy... I used bump bands for a bit but didn't feel secure. I've still got a relatively small bump at 27w and have found mamas and papas over bump jeggins an gap under bump skinnies best.
Also, if it reassures you--I was big from bloating until about 14w but then went down a lot and only got as big as I was before 14w at about 23w...

Hi pippin66 im exactly the same, by late afternoon I look massive. Im only 5 weeks. My 7yr son has just noticed my belly and told me my belly is big. We're not planning on telling him till at least 12 weeks.

I'm now 28+3 but the worst bloating I've had so far was during the first 12 weeks. I got through it by wearing leggings and loose tops!

I'm 8 wks and already doing the elastic band trick. I don't want to tell work but would have to if I wanted maternity clothes as they need to be ordered from my company!! I look huge after any meal and I am sick of people that do know saying 'you can't blame it on baby yet' I feel like screaming at them!!!!xx

Im just so relieved to hear that others are going through the same thing. I cant wait till I have a proper bump now and dont just look like ive been eating for two already! :)

I've got massive bloating too, despite having lost weight due to ms. And it's bloat not baby Angry

Yeah I know that feeling had terrible ms as well for the past 4 weeks so hoping it will start to wear off soon!
