I'm 38 weeks and have had on off period pains, twinges and icky tummy. Yesterday afternoon they were painful enough for me to have to lie down whereas today nothing! Just wondered if others have had this and how soon after you went into labour?

About 3 weeks. Sorry. Had those exact symptoms at 38 weeks, DS was born at 40+6. It sucks in this heat. The day before he was born I felt better than I had in a while, just really tired.

When he did arrive it was after a brief 2 hour labour, at home, with only DH present. So he got the important bit sorted!

Dodgy tummy about 48 hours before. In the day I felt unbelievably low, could barely walk. Sitting on the sofa in the evening and my waters went (about 6.30pm). Had early labour signs but was induced as slow going at 5.30am. DD born at 7.22am!

Can't help but to say I'm 38 weeks and have all of these. I feel both tired and guilty about not having the energy to 'nest'

very loose bowels in early hours of morning then wham, the contractions came with a vengence.id had on and off cramps and tightening for three weeks prior to this but still went 8 days over

The pains have eased off today so think I'm in for a wait...boo! At least it feels like something is trying to happen!

I'm 38 weeks too and in my third week of these symptoms. No-one tells you how long it takes for your body to get ready for labour!
