How does anyone make it to the 12 week mark without going absolutely doolally??

I'm fully aware that there will always be something to worry about but I'd just like a bit of breathing space.

Does anyone have any early scam experiences? Are they worth it or shall I just try and stick it out?

I had one on nhs at about 6 weeks due to bleeding and cramping. Baby was just a tiny grain of rice but we did see a little flutter in the middle which was the heartbeat. Not sure what it would look like at 8 or 9 weeks. I know it's difficult but try not to worry!

I had one on sunday at 7+3. so glad we did. obviously still worrying but hearing the heartbeat and seeing our little one all the right size and everything ok was so worth the money.

I had a private early scan to date my pregnancy which put me at 6w6d and seemed perfect according to my LMP. There was a heartbeat to be seen at this point, which is obviously a reassuring sign for anyone with worries. The scan cost about £30.

The confusion came when I had my NHS dating scan when I was expecting to be 11w5d but they dated me a week ahead at 12w5d. So from this respect it has given me more to think about because I will be having an ECS which means baby may be delivered early.

I still think the first scan was worthwhile and especially if you are just looking for reassurance that your pregnancy is viable. I imagine just seeing it on screen will make it more real and give you peace of mind.

I had an 6 wk scan cos of a bleed - tiny flickering dot (but MY tiny flickering dot)

An 8 wk viability scan (IVF) - looked like a bean so was named 'little bean'

Then the normal 12/20 wks

if you're anything like me then an early scan will only reassure you for the duration you can see it on the screen. Not saying it won't be worth it for you, just that it won't solve all your anxieties.
