I have had swollen glands in my neck for a couple of days and I'm feeling VERY run down (ontop of the usual 1st trimester exhaustion). I need to know if I'm allowed to take a lemsip (paracetamol based one) or whether I can have pure paracetamol. It's getting hard to swallow now. Sad

I can't blieve how much I've forgotten since my last pregnancy!

Any advice?

You can have paracetamol :)
I had miwife apt on Tuesday and asked her as I have constant headache's at the mo. Told her i'd been waiting as long as I could and if it still hadn't gone had taken 1 paracetamol.
Her response was "why on earth have you been doing that, if you've got a headache just take 2 paracetamol as advised, nothing wrong with it whatsoever"

Cadbury,

I'm not a qualified chemist so it might be worth calling one, but am fairly sure that you should avoid lemsip. Pure paracetomol is fine, but you should avoid anything else eg. ibuprofen, and brand named pain killers often combine more than one drug, so stick to cheap generic paracetomol. It is fine to have up to 8 in a day.

cadbury your best bet is to take ordinary paracetamol

and you can take 2 tabs, as advised on the back, its ok Smile

and ordinary paracetamol is cheaper too than lemsip etc

get well soon!

Lemsip has decongestant in it which is not meant to be taken during pregnancy. Paracetmol is the only safe painkiller to take
