Fitted cotton jersey sheets...

A question for anyone who has used fitted cotton jersey sheets for a moses, crib or cot: if the fitted sheets are not the perfect size, do you get a slightly bigger size (and just tuck the excess under the mattress) or do you get a slightly smaller size (as the jersey will stretch to fit)?

I noted that Little Green Sheep sell 35x75 sheets that are supposed to go onto the 37x81 bednest mattress. But, being a stingepot, I'd prefer to get John Lewis sheets that apparently fit onto a crib with a minimum measurement of 36x84.

Eugh, cannot believe how much of my life I have spent looking at sheet measurements...

I'm using generic mothercare crib sheets for my bednest. As you said you just tuck the excess under the mattress. Seems to work fine and much cheaper than the custom sheets.
