Hi guys,

I've kept steady pace on my wight gain up until a couple if weeks ago. But since I've been 29 weeks plus, it's piling on. I put on a pound a week as expected but since entering 3rd trimester I've gained almost 7 pound in 2 weeeks!! It needs to stop cos I will literally be massive. I was size 8 and 7 and half stone at the beginning, I'm only 5'1 so I'm going to end up looking like a weeble.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

If you are eating healthily (and not overeating) then there isnt much you can do. A lot of the weight will be baby, amniotic fluids, etc so not just fat and the weight will (hopefully) come back off again after the birth.

Because you were small before pregnancy it's not a problem to put on more weight. If you are naturally slim you should be able to lose it with healthy diet and exercise after the baby is born. Try not to worry, as long as you are eating a balanced healthy diet then the weight gain is not a problem. Your body needs to lay down fat stores for bfing too!!

Just eat your normal amount. Eating for two is a load of rubbish. If you get hungry have divide your meals into smaller portions so you can eat more often. Stick to that and do regular exercise (walking and swimming are great) and you should be fine!

It's probably fine but I'd get this checked out just in case (someone tole me rapid weight gain is a sign of preeclampsia for example), unlikely but always best to check :)

I'm 5"1 also and i had this from weeks 18 thru to 26,I was putting between 2.5 and 3.5 lbs a week on,eating healthy and counting cals didn't stop it or when I ate more than I should, then by week 27 I put just a lb on then the same last week (28) I've asked friends and family, and I think it's just what ur body wants to do,I'm glad it's finally slowed but I've got terrible cellulite on my legs as I'm already up to 30lbs preg weight 😒 try not to stress too much,it body will do what it needs and u can lose it after the babys come xx
