DS1 was born a week late. 2 weeks from due date now...no complications that I know of, still going to work, what d'ya reckon....DS2 more likely to be on time or even early?

he'll come when he's cooked Smile

tiredemma · 08/06/2006 12:02

dont know, but my second came three weeks early, ds1 was 4 days early.

MrsBigD · 08/06/2006 12:02

I'd say chances are 50/50 ;)

DD was 2 weeks overdue and had to be induced with emergency c-section

DS was a schedule cs 39+5 so in my case yes the second one came earlier but I think if I hadn't had a cs he would have gone overdue too

My older brother was early with long labour I was on time with very short labour.

I think it's very individual :)

hotmama · 08/06/2006 12:34

They'll come when they are ready. My GP said that as firsts are often late then second's are often early.

So how come dd1 was 9 days late and dd2 was 12 days late - started on the morning I was due to be induced. Wink

trinityrhino · 08/06/2006 12:44

not sure it matters , I think they just come when their ready.

dd1 was 3 days before due date
dd2, I was induced 8 days after my due date

bubbly1973 · 08/06/2006 13:23

i had ds 5days early, im due with my second child today and nothing has happened yet so like everyone says, they come when they are ready

purpleturtle · 08/06/2006 13:25

dd term + 13 days
ds term + 14 days
both frightened out by threat of induction Smile

dinosaure · 08/06/2006 13:28

My DS1 was a week early, and everyone - midwives, consultant, friends, old Uncle Tom Cobbley and all - sagely intoned that that probably meant that DS2 would be early as well.

In fact DS2 was five days late, but as I'd been expecting him to be early, it felt as if I was waiting forever - it was awful!

oliveoil · 08/06/2006 13:29

dd1 - 14 days late (good job as we moved house 4 days before she was born)
dd2 - 10 days late

Piffle · 08/06/2006 13:33

ds 2 weeks late
dd two weeks early :)

Gillian76 · 08/06/2006 13:46

Wishful thinking...

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it really :)

LittleMerlin · 08/06/2006 13:50

DS1 was 3 weeks early
DS2 1 day late

Good luck whenever he/she decides to put in an appearance!!!!

robin3 · 08/06/2006 13:56

Thanks everyone....I know they come when they're ready but just trying to avoid giving birth on the office floor. ALthough I could then call DS2 Mat!

mosschops30 · 08/06/2006 15:10

dd - 4 days late
ds - 15 days late induced

motherinferior · 08/06/2006 15:12

DD1 was a couple of days early. DD2 was 16 days early. So I would have had her on the office floor. Come to that my waters broke in my office, but then I do work from home.

apronstrings · 08/06/2006 15:15

dd1 - 1 week early
ds1 - on the day
ds2 - 2 weeks early
dd2 - 2 days early - despite being told she was ready to come and i was totally efaced and nearly 3 cms dilated 3 weeks before -grrrr

So no pattern there

Not in my case - DS1 was 4 days early, DS2 was 4 days late.

It was that way for my SIL though - DD1 was 2 1/2 weeks early and DD2 was 4 weeks early.

I guess you can never tell really...

alicemama · 08/06/2006 23:06

dd1: 2days early
dd2: very long 12 days overdue!
