does a faint line mean positive?

ive just taken a clear blue plus test and im sure there is a vertical line on my result but I cant be sure.

The test definately worked as the result indicator was there but the vertical line was very faint but im sure it was there. Has anyone else had this?

If there is a line there even a faint one it means the test is positive. Do it again in a few days and see if its stronger. Congratulations!

Yes a faint line is a line. Does the line go all the way from top to bottom?

Yep.

Test in a few more days and the line should be stronger as the pregnancy hormones build and build in the first few weeks.

My barely visable line (Dp couldn't see it) is a 28 wk bump now.

Thank you everyone. Very nervous. The line is very faint barely visable but definitely goes from top to bottom. Even got my partner to check too. Will test again tomorrow I think ;-)

My very faint, had to squint and hold it to the light to see it line is now a 15 week old bump so yes it does sound like a positive, congratulations. Keep testing and it should get darker.

Yes my very faint line is now a 15w bump, I thought maybe I was reading it too long afterwards. I recommend buying one of those clear blue tests that just say pregnant or not pregnant and how many weeks. Much less angst than interpreting a line...

I had a very faint line the first day I tested. The next day out was a little stronger. I'm now almost 12 weeks

How quickly did the faint line come up? If it was after the five minutes (I think, check the leaflet) it could be an evaporation line. I had one of these once and I wasn't pregnant. But my first test with DS1 was very faint but clearly visible to me and DP.

It was within the time scale that the line appeared but it was so faint but there if that makes sense

I had negative tests and then the faintest, faintest line. She's nearly 9mo :)

Yep a line is a line even if its so weak you have to hold it up to the window to see it, congratulations

If it was within the time scale, sounds like its a very faint positive. Test again tomorrow, in the morning when HCG levels will be highest.

Um im not sure im happy but slightly apprehensive too. Dont want to test again and discover it was a false alarm lol. I have 2 l
Children already but I was almost 3 months gone when I found out with both of them. I will definately be one happy girl if I am though. I just keep thinking that it was such a faint line could I have imagined it?

I think you will be ok, I think you can get a false negative but never a false positive (I think).

get a first response test there better then clearblue I got a clearblue and got a barley visible line bought a first response one and got a very dark line I thought I imagined it with the clearblue one haha im now 16 weeks congrats xx

Melm, remember HCG levels double every 48 hours. So if your levels were 10 today they will only be 15 tomorrow (ie a barely noticeable difference). It took 4 days before my tests went from barely visible to visible without squinting! Good luck

The first test I took (at work) showed negative to me so I chucked it in my handbag i only looked at it again as i took it out my bag to throw away i noticed an extremely faint line (bout 3 hrs after i did it) so thought it was where i left it for so long. I did another one that afternoon and def saw the line. I started shaking and bought about 8 more cos i really was in shock after 3 years of bfns.... Needless to say ive got my first scan friday! X
