Have just been diagnosed with GD (28 weeks with no 2, had it with no 1 but not so early). Ugh. Thought I'd escape it this time (so far am the same weight I was at check in).

I really want to eat a cake. Please tell me not to be so daft.

Don't be so daft. Although a small slice with a meal would probably be ok.

Did you manage to diet control it last time or did you need metformin/insulin?

For what it's worth I was diagnosed last week at 14 weeks... Sad

I was also diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks, and it hasn't really caused too many problems - luckily I have managed to control my blood sugars with diet. I do still have the very occasional treat, and if my blood sugar reading is high afterwards at least I know why.
The main advantage of being diagnosed for me has been the extra scans, lovely to see the baby a couple more times than most other people do.
I don't know if they have the same policy where you are, but here they induce or do elcs on all mothers with GD at 39 weeks - My induction is booked in for wed next week (eek!).
Good luck with everything!

I was diagnosed with GD on Good Friday...and told to lay off the Easter Eggs!

Last time I controlled it with diet. I had a "complicated" delivery last time so they're going to induce me from week 37 I think (I was induced at 40 last time).
