Have phoned/txt midwife and ultrasound dept at hospital and all they can say is they're chasing it up and to wait. They scan up to 22 weeks here but this is getting silly! Is it normal to have to wait so late for an appointment date? I'll phone around again tomorrow but not anticipating much luck

Did your midwife not book one in for you just before/just after your 12 week one OP? That's not good to leave you stressing. Where about's are you?

I moved to a new area after 12 week scan. Had another booking app at 16 weeks and midwife said she was going to send off an ultrasound request. So worried I won't get one!

I'm in Kent

OK, just wondered if perhaps you weren't in the UK.

Try not to worry too much. I'm sure your MW will make sure you get one before 22 weeks. Ring again mid week, maybe, and say you're getting stressed!

I've recently moved area but was lucky enough to move at the 6 week point, just as it was time to start contact, so didn't have to start over with a different GP and hospital. Sympathies.

I moved at 33w, it was stressful, but I think the problems were that most areas just don't expect women to move during pg so they struggle to fit people in at short notice. Just keep calling and politely chasing.

What Trust do you come under? I'm in Kent and booked my 36 week scan over the phone as an appointment hasn't come through

EmB1715 · 21/07/2013 19:52

I don't really feel like I can call my midwife again about it! I'm in East Kent...Ashford William Harvey to be specific. Who did you speak to at the hospital? The US dept just told me to wait!

I'm in NW Kent. I phoned the main Ante-Natal number at the hosp and they transferred me to Ultrasound. I explained I needed it done before my next consultant appointment (which is true) and they just booked it in :)

I'll give it another go then! Might have to be more forceful I think Wink

Definitely! Good luck Grin

The WHH in Ashford has been having major computer problems in the scanning department, it was in the local paper last week. I'm still waiting for NT results 3 weeks later, and have no 16 week midwife appointment (and obviously no 20 week scan one either) yet. I think it is fixed now but they are working through a backlog according the to newspaper. Might this be the cause of the delay?

EmB1715 · 21/07/2013 20:39

I had heard something about computer systems failing. I understand if they've had problems but it's really cutting it fine now! Hope you get your appointments sorted too!

It is totally rubbish. Someone else on the Jan 2014 thread very nearly didn't get her 12 week scan because of it. I think that in the end she had to be very forceful otherwise she'd have missed her NT test!
