Where to start..

So my SIL's first pregnancy was monitored to make sure baby grew properly and he was born two days early weighing 4lb 13oz.

Now with her second pregnancy she is not due until the 27th august and has been having growth scans this time round, too. Well her most recent scan last week she was told baby stopped growing at 28 weeks. She now has to have steroid injections a few times a day to see if that helps. And if nothing has improved then she is getting taken into hospital on friday.

I'm not sure if they are inducing her or whatnot as it was OH that was telling me what his mum told him. So he isn't the best of messengers.

Will sil and baby both be ok? I mean, if she gets taken in next friday what will happen?

I don't really want to be nosey and ask her loads of questions because she is probably already going out of her mind with worry as it is.

Ask her directly! She might appreciate the interest from family members who will be able to support her.....

I agree--don't be afraid to get in touch with her but probably just to say you're thinking of them, rather than asking loads of questions. I'm sure she'd be glad to know people are rooting for them but she probably doesn't know herself what will happen. Babies born at this gestation have a very good chance of survival but I guess it depends on the cause. Google intrauterine growth restriction.
