We're off on holiday next week when I'll be 29 weeks (not sure how mad this is) and I can't seem to find any shorts or 3/4 trousers that go over the bump and dont cost a fortune. Any ideas gratefully received Smile

I broke my H&M boycott and got my holiday clothes there at 25 weeks (am 30 now) - I'm in a small town in Germany where it is basically the only shop that sells maternity clothes! Anyway I got a pair of shorts there, I think they might be aimed at pregnant people a bit younger than me because they're rather tight (ie super elasticated) but I was desperate - and comfort first, eh?! I also bought the h and m over the bump shorts, in navy blue and I really like them- considering going back for another pair if this weather is likely to last. I find them very comfy. They also do over the bump 3/4 leggings but unfortunately had very limited sizes when I went- so maybe plan to visit a couple of branches if possible?

I have also bought a couple of dresses in charity shops, a size or 2 up to accommodate larger belly and boobs, both of which tie at the back under the boobs so look like maternity dresses. Definitely worth a try I'd say (esp Barnardos or another kids charity shop as they will likely have a maternity section)

Other than that, I cant be much help- really struggling to find cheap, comfy, appropriate things myself and I live in the Second City!

Also, new look have a couple of really nice maxi dresses and also do leggings, and probably shorts too.

Depending on your budget gap have some and you can usually find voucher codes on line. Also Jojo maman have a sale at the moment so summer dresses shorts and skirts lots cheaper than usual

I had a couple of over-the-bump shorts from my last pregnancy that I got from H&M, they've lasted brilliantly, and very comfy. I popped back in there on Friday, and picked up a £7.99 jersey dress, thin elastic strip a bit below the boobs, with wide straps. A bit like this, but they had more patterns in store. It wasn't maternity wear, but I'm 32wks, and it encompasses my bulk quite nicely. Very nice and cool.

For shorts, I'm also using cheapy-found-in-the-sale, thin jogging bottoms, cut off to just above the knee. They don't stretch right up and over my bump, just up the my belly button, so with a maternity top I'm all covered. Nice and loose elsewhere, so they're quite cool. Also means I can wiggle them down a little, wear my bikini top, and sun my bump comfortably! :)

Have a lovely time on your holidays.

Thanks ladies. My local h&m gad very little so I'll check out a bigger one!
