I have been told to expect this but clearly was not expecting it so bad! My favourite foods smell horrible, making me feel sick. The air smells, perfume smells bad. It is unbearable!! What causes this? Anybody know?xx

Pregnancy! ha!

Everything smells VILE!

I never realised my home smelled so bad! I can't bare the thought of going to the supermarket, all those awful smells would make me vom!

Ha ha, literally everything repulsed me early on. Especially anything related to Christmas, and root veg (I was early pg over winter). I got by on cheese sandwiches for three months!

My very favourite body wash (Soap and Glory Sugar Crush) made me puke this morning because it smells like it's gone off and soured.

I'm 9 weeks today.

Everything is vile. Even my beautiful DS who is 3 can turn my stomach when he smells of food or something Sad

...and this is when you discover the bliss of unscented EVERYTHING. Grin

(Congratulations, btw!)

Yet another wonderful effect of oestrogen Grin

My DP suffered with this- he's a chef, and has been working longer hours all summer, so you can imagine how delightful he smelled when he got home at night. The sense of smell combined with hormonal rage had him ordered into the shower before he was allowed to give me a hug or kiss. I actually sniff-checked him and sent him back in once or twice because I could still smell the kitchen Blush

It does get better though, honestly. I'm 36 weeks now and he actually gets a hug when he gets home!

I can't admit this to anyone but the smell of my DS makes me want to vom, that lovely snuggly baby smell I used to love so much Hmm am 12w now so hopefully it'll get better soon!!

Everything from the smell of DH's aftershave to fabric softener was horrible. All food smells were vile.

I am 15w and its now slowly easing off, although garlic still makes me retch. I used to love garlic pre pregnancy.

Oh God this was one of my worse early pg symptoms! I didn't go anywhere near the cat or kitchen for months! I literally put a peg on my nose when I had to go in the kitchen (no joke)!! It eases off with the sickness but some things still repulse me at 20 weeks...one of DH's aftershaves (feel so bad when I have to say something), coffee and musty smells. Yuck!

Congratulations!!! I remember DH coming to bed (9pm was a late night for me at the time) and me smelling the most vile smell known to man. Threw open the windows, complained loudly, to realise that the offending smell was...
...
....Toast!

Took me till the 3rd trimester to get over it. Now I pretty much only eat Toast.

Hope it eases soon.

Glad it's not just me. I have a v.good sense of smell anyway - but this pregnancy has heightened it to ridiculous proportions!

I can smell the kitchen bin ALL the time. I swear. We use a liner in it and it gets emptied every day - so it can't be that bad.

I cannot bare putting perfume on me - it's an assault on the senses!

Dont get me started on the cat litter tray! It's in the downstairs loo, big window open, big covered tray, emptied every day, good litter, de-odoriser inside, plenty of people in the house willing and able to pick up through the day. Normally there is no smell. BUT - my God - now i can tell that tray has been newly used from 1000 m away! .......

Me: ''SOMEONE - do the litter tray pleeeeease''.
This is before the poo has barely left the cat Grin ..... Ugghh. Heave.
