Lochia (sp?) how long does it last?

I had my little girl 14 days ago and just wondered how long bleeding lasts after birth? Mine seems to be going but not sure if I will start again? I have heard/read it can last for upto 6 weeks but wondered what everyone else's experiences were?

approx. 5 wks with both of mine until it properly stopped.

Yeah same as above for me too, 5/6ish wks both times so count yourself lucky if u got away with two weeks :-)

Mine was 5/6 weeks too.

For me it was around 8 weeks.

Same for me, too. Both c-sections.

Just re-read your original post. Can't remember with DS1 but with DS2 kept thinking it was stopping but then would start again until finally petered out at 5 wks.

2 weeks heavy, then a couple of weeks where it was only light but still needed to wear a pad. Had a couple of times where I'd have a day with no bleeding then it would start up again. Congratulations on your daughter!

Mine was heavy for 2-3 weeks then started to ease off so just wore pant liners. I remember being a bit concerned when it went into 3rd week but being told that was normal.

6 weeks but I had a huge clot about 2 weeks and a rush of very heavy bleeding. I didn't have the injection for the placenta so I don't know whether that's relevant.

7/8 weeks with dd, but 5/6 weeks of it was brown gooey discharge not actual bleeding

3 weeks with ds but only 5/6 days of bleeding then gooey light pinky/white discharge until it stopped.

Think it was about 8 weeks but very little between 5-7 weeks.
