I'm 38.5 weeks and experiencing hip pain for the first time in my pregnancy. Spent most of yesterday lying down on left side as I was really tired, and found my left hip aching by last night. This woke me up several times in the night and then this morning my right hip started joining in the fun. Now have a fairly constant dull ache on both sides.

Understand everything will be shifting around in the pelvis and hip pain is par for the course, but wondered if anyone had any top tips for keeping the dull ache from getting much worse. Am already sleeping with pillow between legs and ankles, sitting on birth ball during the day, etc. Thanks in advance.

hi HJ I had really bad hip pain earlier in pregnancy, (am 35+2 now). I found having a pillow behind hips/bum in addition to between knees really helped me. Don't know if that works for everyone, but I love that butt pillow. Hope your pain eases soon (not really the weather for a hot water bottle :-( )

Loving my cold water bottle (aka hot water bottle I put in the freezer)

My MW said to take 2 paracetamols before bed to stop the hip pain waking me up. She also said I must take 2 because 1 is a child's dose and won't have any affect.

Not long to go now! Smile
