Hiya. I'm 24+1 with DC1 and it's all becoming a bit real. I've also spent too much time googling every twinge in the last week or so and am in danger of deciding I've got every possible thing going....

So - for balance, can you please share your dull, boring stories of perfectly normal pregnancies? I just need a couple of lines of tedium from a few people to offset my impending hypochondria.

Many thanks

Three pregnancies. Three healthy babies. Nothing to see here. Step away from the Google.

Blankiefan · 18/07/2013 21:54

Thanks Maca -v. Sensible advice Grin

Two healthy big fat boys. Nothing else to say. They even arrived pretty much spot on their due dates - one the day before, one the day after.

oohdaddypig · 18/07/2013 21:58

As someone who stopped enjoying my (perfectly normal) pregnancies through worry I would second the stepping away from google.

Every day millions of women have healthy babies. You only hear the bad stuff from dr google.

I regret not enjoying my pregnancies more. So special. Please enjoy it ;) before the madness starts ;)

chocoluvva · 18/07/2013 22:00

Two normal healthy pregnancies.

DC2 was measured at the 30 and 38 week scans and deemed not to have grown much by the radiographer. Midwife pronounced this as tosh due to my visibly increasing girth. Baby was born at 40+5 weighing 8lbs.

Other pregnant women drove me nuts with their tales of their unborn babies internal gymnastics. Mine were nothing more than slightly disconcerting. This worried me.

I did not have high-blood pressure, SPD or whatever it's called, gestational diabetes or anything else except a brief spell of indigestion.

GiraffesAndButterflies · 18/07/2013 22:01

Basically everyone I know. No one's had any more than minor issues, the only lingering problems are the stretch marks and the piles Grin

Google is not your friend right now Smile

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 18/07/2013 22:04

29 weeks here and doing fine. I've been describing myself as feeling fine. For those female enquirers who've had children I've added "usual pregancy niggles, but all fine".

I know it feels like we're dying of some terrible disease (and if you'd asked me at this time yesterday, I might have told you I was Wink), but really, it's all going to be OK Smile

giddywithglee · 18/07/2013 22:09

Just to add re: staying AWAY from Google...

I was v anxious in my second pregnancy. I googled every twinge. I didn't enjoy it. I really regret it, as it will probably be my last pregnancy (self imposed but currently have a 2 year old and 3 month old. Enough said),

nenehooo · 18/07/2013 22:14

All fine here too! Didn't even have to take my wedding/engagement rings off :-) no complications before or after, thank goodness. I do know people who've had horrors, but to be honest it just made me even more grateful my pregnancy and birth was uneventful. Try not to worry Smile

Blankiefan · 18/07/2013 22:14

You're all marvellous. This is exactly what I need. Thank you.

I had SPD but it wasn't That bad considering (don't tell anyone though as it's a chance to rest up a bit)! Dreaded a worse time for second pregnancy but didn't come back at all and worked full time for the last 3 months with a 9-12 month old baby when I got home. 2 brilliant water births in 4 and 2 hours respectively, only a v few stitches first time nothing second time... Like shelling peas Grin

ARightOldPickle · 18/07/2013 22:42

Three pregnancies, all healthy and normal. DD3 was breech until almost the last minute but turned in time. Had nothing more serious than backache and heartburn, didn't even get stretchmarksGrin

chillisbopper · 18/07/2013 22:48

I'm 21 weeks with my first pregnancy...not thrown up once, no back ache, no complications that I'm aware of (hoping it stays that way)...honestly if it weren't for feeling a little nauseous at times, really sore leaky boobs, feeling my boy move more recently and the scan pictures (oh and lack of AF) I'd not believe I was pregnant...in fact my next door neighbour found out the other night and she didn't believe it!! I don't think it gets more boring than that Grin I'm waiting for a big bump to balloon out so that other people who can't feel what I feel can tell I am in deed pregnant lol.

giddywithglee · 18/07/2013 22:49

Oh yeah, no swelling. Could even slide wedding/engagement rings up and down fingers

Ruralninja · 18/07/2013 22:52

22 weeks here, first pregnancy, uber worried....but... never felt better, loads of energy, very occasional mild indigestion, baby seems spot on so far, even though I came out as increased risk for downs syndrome, on closer inspection, all seems well. I'll find other things to fret about though for sure!

DramaAlpaca · 18/07/2013 22:57

Three perfectly normal, healthy pregnancies here with nothing worse than a bit of morning sickness to worry about.

No swelling, blood pressure problems, indigestion or stretchmarks.

Then three long but perfectly straightforward labours & births.

I was very lucky I guess.

Congrats & good luck to all you pregnant ladies on here Flowers.

WhispersOfWickedness · 18/07/2013 22:57

My two pregnancies were so uncomplicated, I genuinely don't have anything interesting to say about them!

chillisbopper · 18/07/2013 23:00

Oh yeah, good point made by Giddywithglee about the swelling, I've none of that either, wedding ring was always a bit tight so I was worried I'd not be wearing it for long and it's still there on my finger, some days I actually think it fits better than before! Grin

Sparklyboots · 18/07/2013 23:00

Two normal pregnancies, still moaned all the way through them. It wasn't rtthe pregnancies that bothered me so much as the existence of other people. I even posted a thread on here about how very fucking irritating it was to have to put up with people 'chewing their fucking food'. No real idea what the problem was but did get honest-to-goodness rage about such things.

Birth was also straightforward, although I did insist on making animal sounds all the way through the labour, and may have shouted, 'fuck' through one contraction with DC1. Fortunately I did labour quickly enough for it to be over before it was truly annoying.

One of my children was born on Christmas Day - this is my only truly worthy-of-an-anecdote/joke factoid related to pregnancy. Just like everyone else, however, I can report that both of my children are divine Grin

TheSurgeonsMate · 18/07/2013 23:00

I did spend some time wondering when it was that it would get bad, but it never did. Old wives tale appropriate to your situation - if it starts off smoothly enough it will end smoothly enough.

Clearlymisunderstood · 18/07/2013 23:05

Not much to say, no morning sickness, kicks started at about 25 weeks. Went into labour on my due date at 12pm, dd was born with just gas and air at 16.50.

Can't wait to do it again Grin she's two next Saturday!

AmandaPandtheTantrumofDoom · 18/07/2013 23:10

Two normal pregnancies here. No sickness. Very tired first trimester. Very fat by end, mostly due to chocolate consumption.

First labour bit rubbish but not startling at a medical level. Second lovely home birth.

Could do it all again. Less sure about age 12-36 months though Grin

Taffeta · 18/07/2013 23:12

2 normal ones. One a week early one a day early. First labour quite long, as is usual, second one v quick.

The only stupid thing was with the second, I was convinced I needed a poo. You'd have thought having had one already I'd have realised.

2tired2bewitty · 18/07/2013 23:20

No sickness, excessive tiredness or stretch marks here either.

The most exciting thing was being declared anemic by the midwife and sent to my gp for iron tablets. GP said that my levels were so marginal that he wouldn't have bothered, but he wasn't one to argue with midwives :)

swannylovesu · 18/07/2013 23:23

i just got fatter...no other inconvience. Had DS1 at 41 + 5 and DS2 at 36 weeks. Both over 7lb, both wonderful. i did panic over every bh with DS1..much more relaxed with the second.
