..and only place she seems to be able to find one is by ordering from the US.. and paying £50!!!!! Shock (She has not done this, unsurprisingly!)

That can't be right can it??! Surely other larger ladies whose boobs have grown even more due to pregnancy.. and who need support due to tenderness in boob area... need to buy bras???

I told her I was coming straight to MN.. and that they would have advice! :) She has tried all the usual places to get maternity bras. She is only 18 weeks so needs to get this sorted!!

Thanking you in advance..

You can buy those bra extender things that go acorss your hooks at the back, they are good only nursing bras I cna find are up to 48

\link{http://www.amplebosom.com\Amplebosom.com} might be worth a try - their site isn't working at the moment so I can't see whether they have anything, but they go up to really big sizes, and have maternity/nursing bras as well.

rigby and peller do a made to measure service

NomDePlume · 08/06/2006 09:42

I suspect that'd cost more than the £50 that she is already Shock at paying, stitch.

Gillian76 · 08/06/2006 09:44

Up to 50 \link{http://naturallycloseuk.drct2u.com/home.jsp\here}

SleepyJess · 08/06/2006 09:45

Think she has measured properly Fio.. (hello back.. just remembered what I said to you on other thread.. tell me about this "morbid carer's group" you think we should go to.. I am on tenterhooks here.. it sounds such fun! Grin)

If you are reading this, oh pregnant friend, register immediately on Mumsnet (you are knocked up after all.. and they are not that scary on here... often.. Wink) and then you can respond for yourself..! :)

ooh that looks good.. and reasonable priced Gillian!!

Pregnant friend where are you??!

OP posts:
Auntymandy · 08/06/2006 09:48

oh now it says it doesnt do that size and it did in main search!!

Auntymandy · 08/06/2006 09:49

one does..is it a nursing bra she wants?

Bugsy2 · 08/06/2006 09:50

sleepyjess, that measurement doesn't sound right. I'm 36DD and my boobs are generous but they are not huge at all. 54DD would suggest that she has an enormous circumference and relatively speaking quite small boobs.
Sounds to me like she should go to a reputable store for measuring first of all.

However, here are some links for bigger maternity bras - I went up to an H cup when I was pregnant!!
\link{www.b2g.ltd.uk\here's one}
\link{www.biggerbras.com\and another}
\link{www.mothernaturebras.co.uk\ and another!!}

SleepyJess · 08/06/2006 09:51

I think at this stage she just wants something to support them as they hurt so much now... but think she's planning to give bf a go so a comfy nursing bra that she could wear now would not go amiss...

I have invited her onto the thread (she'll only be dossing at work Wink)... so she can comment on the measurements as I don't know when and how she was measured...

Hello ladies ! I'm the disgruntled friend who has finally joined up !!! I measured myself with guidance from figleaves.com and purchased the only bra on that website that does my size I actually purchased a 54DDD but its too big and really uncomfortable so am assuming I'm a 54DD as it was the cup size that was slightly too big. I am a big girl with a broad back and quite large boobs but they are not gob smackingly large LOL
