Hello!
Just wondering if anyone has started their antenatal classes etc? I was advised to take partner with me but do men usually go to antenatal classes etc? Also booked for resuscitation and breast feeding classes.
Have your men been going? would it would it be best to take my mum to breast feeding?

Hiya! There was only one man at my breastfeeding class, as I thought that it wasn't a man thing. Boy was I wrong- If you can encourage your DP/ DH to go then I would. I found it very informative and really wish that my DH had gone. After all- they are the ones that are going to be around when you are feeding and will need to support you.

I am concerned about my antenatal classes as I am 35 weeks with DC1 at the moment, advised by midwife that she would let me know when they were... and still not heard anything (they do a one day course where I am) She said she'd look into it at 34 week check but still! DH will be going with me too. Was too late for the resuscitation before baby arrives (they don't run here between may and october) but will be going in the new term.

Good luck!

Hey Smile
Thanks for that! I was reluctant to bring him to bf class incase he was the only man there - wouldn't want to make him or the other ladies feel uncomfortable.
I know what you mean I would be getting a bit nervous awaiting a date for a class at your stage. Hope it gets sorted for you soon. xx

Definitely take partner if possible - especially to the breastfeeding class! When you're struggling during labour or afterwards, you need someone to remind you that it's all normal, who better than your baby's dad?
