paracetamol are safe, ibuprofen isn't, iirc

I think co-codamol is for short periods as I think this was given to me by my doctor for bad sciatica pain. I think Ibuprofen is def not allowed. Will check on internet for you.

Found this on the internet if it helps:

Is co-codamol safe to take in pregnancy?

Co-codamol contains paracetamol and codeine. Paracetamol is safe to take in pregnancy and is the painkiller usually recommended. Codeine is what is known as an opioid analgesic (related to morphine) and is not considered safe to use in pregnancy. The risks associated with the use of codeine also apply mainly to the last three months. Codeine is not associated with congenital abnormalities, and co-codamol is very unlikely to have harmful effects when used in the first months of pregnancy.

When I went into hospital with pains at 34 weeks I was shocked when they gave me 2 paracetamol and 1 codeine tablet.

I didn't think it was allowed. Having said that I have just taken 2 soluble aspirin again this morning due to nauseating headache which I think is also a no-no but am that desperate-am now 36+4.

Hope your toothache improves.

Mrs Lee co-codamol is safe during pregnancy. Massive doses of codiene/morphine close to an iminant birth can cause a bab to have slow breathing, but whilst the baby is nice and safe in your tum it is absolutley fine to take in any form. IT is not contraindicated by pregnancy aaccording to the drs prescribing hand book.
Ibuprofen should not be taken in the last three monts of pregnancy.

After you have seen the dentist get some soluble co-codamol from the pharmicy and swoosh it over the sore tooth.

Oil of cloves can also be goo but the smell makes me feel sick!!
Hope you feel better soon poor soul!

(PS for the record ibrufen should not be taken in the first three monts of preg and should only be used in the middle months with a drs approval!)
