Odd question about hair

Normally, as in previous years, during the summer I'd shave my legs every morning as they feel prickly by 24 hours later. Since I've been pg though, hair hasn't seemed to grow as much, I last shaved my legs yesterday morning and they still feel smooth.

Anyone else or is this one just me????

I had that in my last pregnancy! I remember only having to shave underarms about once a week, it was fantastic.

This pregnancy I'm having the opposite problem and am a hairy ape with hair growing at alarming speed and in new places!
I'm 18 weeks now and theres no sign of it slowing down.
I wonder does it mean the baby's sex is different to last time??

Gerty1002 · 16/07/2013 15:38

Yes, I've noticed this! It's great with this hot weather, especially as shaving them is now a military operation :)

Mayanbob · 16/07/2013 15:54

I have this- which is fab. However I do have a hairy stomach instead Hmm

Natale28 · 16/07/2013 15:56

Knittingirl - i say lucky you! I'm having the opposite like supersesame! I'm not usually very hairy at all but now i have to shave my legs everyday! It's very strange! And i'm only 7+4 so i think i have a very hairy pregnancy ahead!

Gerty1002 · 16/07/2013 15:56

Mayanbob My tummy is hairy too! You win some, you lose some haha :)

Preggobear · 16/07/2013 16:01

Ooh me too Knittingirl!

StaceyP85 · 16/07/2013 16:01

I seem to be hairier than usual as well... especially in the stomach area!

Feel like I am turning into an ape! Smile

knittingirl · 16/07/2013 16:06

Lol it seems like we're all going one way or the other!

Apparently a hairy belly is normal if you are having a boy. Probably nothing scientific in that, but its what 'they say'.

P.s. IM having a boy and my belly is v hairy!

FoofFighter · 16/07/2013 17:46

There was a thread ages ago on here where people had put it down to different sex theory. I can't remember being hairy as such with the other two, but have a def hairy belly going on, thick black, have to wax it Blush no idea what flavour baby this is, but have one of each already.

Gerty1002 · 16/07/2013 18:06

I'm having a boy and my belly is hairy - not too bad but definitely more than usual. But less hairy legs...

PeriodMath · 16/07/2013 18:09

My tummy is what I would call furry rather than hairy and I'm having a girl...

PastaBeeandCheese · 16/07/2013 18:24

I had this last time. Too early to tell this time but I hope it's the same again.

Apparently it means you're having a girl. I did have a girl last time but as it was 50/50 anyway I'm not sure i can take that as proof!

Mayanbob · 16/07/2013 19:34

So glad it's not just me with monkey stomach. I don't know what I'm having so will report back post birth...

sadly my belly has always been a little hairy.... tho its getting worse.
everywhere else seems about the same x

blondebaby111 · 16/07/2013 20:11

Lucky you op. I have never had to shave my legs as much as I do now and have a very hairy belly. Also I've just noticed that my fingers are getting hairy just above the nuckles, its foul. Thank god I'm blonde and only I can see it really. It was one of the first signs that made me test, I rarely have to shave my legs but even before I found out I was doing it twice a week so that's what made me suspicious x

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 16/07/2013 20:16

My legs are much better, I can get away with every other day now. Doesn't work for armpits though, and my chin is picking up the slack with Big Black Fierce Hairs that sprout overnight. You win some, you lose some.

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 16/07/2013 20:17

I'm having a girl, BTW.

Teaandflapjacks · 16/07/2013 21:08

I have the same with my legs - I do them once a week now, if that. There is basically nothing there, same with arm pits. I have a fuzzy belly though (having a girl) but the weirdest is I have had LOADS more pubic hair - the last wax took twice as along and I bled a bit Shock - i am normally fastidious about Brazilians but after the last one about 6 weeks ago I have not been back. My regular waxist commented on it too, and says she has seen it loads with pg women (maybe she was just being nice!). And honestly, I can't be bothered with it now - that section of the shop is shut for business for one thing! Grin

MOTU · 16/07/2013 22:11

Had this with dd having the opposite this time and scan says boy! So I think it's a gender thing ......

Newmum0113 · 16/07/2013 23:29

I too am of the opposite disposition - I have got gairier in this pregnancy - particularly my tummy - and I'm having a girl.l btw.

The worst no one else has mentioned here it the chest hairs Blush and sideburns. My family are all from the Mediterranean so I have thick dark hair at the best of times.

My DH offered to get the lawn mower out for me when I wore shorts the other day and has forgotten to do my legs !

FoofFighter · 17/07/2013 19:57

Interesting that so far there's more girls than boys though hopes this to be true
