1 in 540 individual chance of baby with DS - would you worry and investigate further?

Hi,
I'm new to this (first pregnancy and first time posting in a forum) so apologise if there are other similar threads.
I recently had my DS screening tests results back that say that I have a low risk of having a baby with DS and my individual chance is 1 in 540. This is seems quite high to met seeing as most ppl seem to have a 1 in the thousands score.
Im not sure what my blood results were but i saw that nuchal fold was 1.7mm. I am 31 and relatively healthy.
I'm not sure if I am being over cautious/ worried or whether i should go for further testing (more detailed scan) now or wait till the 20 week scan?
Has anyone else had a score like this? Would you be worried?
Thanks :-)

I think it depends a lot on what you would do with the information. If you would carry on the pregnancy but want to know what you face and be prepared or if you would terminate.

Just to give a different perspective on the numbers, 1 in 540 equates to a 0.0019% chance of your baby having downs, which is a pretty low number! It's also a much lower risk than the risk of miscarriage associated with having amniocentesis or CVS to find out for sure.

Yes, it depends on what you would do with the information.

Abortion isn't something we'd ever consider for DS so we didn't even have the standard screening.

With a 1 in 540 chance, it's actually more likely you'll miscarry as a result of further tests.

But even if I was to consider termination, I wouldn't be worried by a 1 in 540. I think, I'd start wondering from 1 in 50 or lower.

I compared it against risk thru amnio. Even tho my DS risk was 1 in 180, amnio risk is 1 in 100 therefore didn't do amnio. Also don't know if this is reliable but dd's body measurements were normal which reassured me.
