I'm 30 weeks pregnant and have really been suffering from pelvic pain, the pain is right in the V shape, (along bikini line I guess) are there any exercises that can help loosen the up a bit?

Thanks

There are, but it's probably worth your while to see your mw or gp for a physio referral. Pelvic girdle pain or spd is v common in pg & there are special pgp physio clinics to help. You should be able to get a rapid referral at 30w.

Thanks for your reply. Online it mentions not doing any scissor type movements with your legs but I feel like that's what is needed, almost like doing a couple of lengths of breaststroke would help. Gets worse when I am sitting all day at work! I really don't want to have to take mat leave early!

I have exactly the same thing, my midwife gave me the number for the obstetric physio this morning and i got a place on a group session tomorrow. Maybe see if you have something similar in your area?

I got referred to a physio for SPD, and she gave me great guidance on thing not to do, such as lots of walking or climbing stairs, carrying heavy loads or hoovering. The lady gave me a support to wear but it's like a double bandage round my stomach and hips and just too hot in this weather! x
