Want to start a family but taking sertraline and bete pragrane for my anxiety. Help........

We want to start a family but i am on 100-150 of sertraline and 80 bet prograne. Will this effect my baby as the doctor is not sure and says they might get heart problems.

Hi my DS is now 8 weeks and I took 50mg of sertraline while I was pregnant for me anxiety. I tried to come off it for the first 3 months but then couldn't handle not having them so went back on a low dose. Although my Docter said there is a very small risk of heart problems he said the pros of taken them outweighed the cons and some babies may have withdrawal symptons but this is not dangerous. My DS is perfect and had no withdrawal symptons my friend also took the same and her dd is perfect to. Just work with ur doctor. Just because u are taking them dosent mean u can't have a family. U will prob be consultant led care aswell at the hospital and they will keep an eye on u. I'm not to sure about the other tablets as not sure wat they are.

I'm 20weeks and have been taking duloxetine and am also prescribed diazepam for anxiety and depression. My younger sister was on sertraline all through her pregnancy too. Its worth a chat with your GP/CMHT or mental health worker, but usual procedure is to assess during pregnancy to see if coming off meds is feasible, and if not, you will just be under consultant-led care.
