Where can we go for 1st anniversary near(ish) Glasgow

My first wedding anniversary is in November and hubby and I
have been planning a dirty weekend away to celebrate pretty much since we got married. We had been thinking somewhere in the boarders but by November I'll be almost 8 months pregnant so we don't want to venture too far from home, especially given the unpredictable weather. Any of you have any suggestions - we live in Ayrshire and while there's plenty of nice hotels in Glasgow/Edinburgh we both think we could do that anytime so it's not much of a treat to go there if that makes sense.

I know we've got plenty of time to think about it but hoping to get a good deal by booking nice and early

What about Mar Hall? It's near Glasgow Airport/Erskine Bridge.

Mar Hall is our back up - we went there the night after our wedding and fell in love with it but other half keen to go somewhere new, thanks for the tip though, have just joined itison, forgot they often do hotel deals

How about Monachyle Mhor (about an hour and a half north of Glasgow - near Balquidder). Pricey but special (v. cosy in winter) and the food is amazing.

I stayed in the norton house hotel outside edinburgh, very cosy and romantic. Felt like we were away from the world, but just out of edinburgh.

Broomhall Castle. Menstrie Nr Stirling. Lovely place and the owners are very helpful.

One Devonshire, for relaxed weekend. Or Blythswood Hotel, which has a fab spa and great high teas...?

I'm looking for somewhere to go to for our first wedding anniversary too.. Bank holiday weekend in August! Don't really mind where (we're in NE England).. Was thinking Oxford/Stratford upon Avon but open to suggestions :)

Just remembered about Greywalls in East Lothian - not far from Edinburgh, has a Roux brothers restaurant & is very luxurious.

Oh, and there's always Stobo Castle for pampering!

DP and I stayed in the Kelvingrove Hotel in Glasgow and it was lovely. No stairs either which would be good at 8 months pregnant :)

Cameron House could be nice, especially since the weathers good, Mar Hall, One Devonshire are close too, or what about Airth Castle?
