Remind me... Is this normal at 29/30 weeks?

I am 29 weeks with twins.... Had a singleton last time (3 years ago) and was pretty comfortable throughout.

I assume this is normal, especially given there are now 2 3 pounders (at least) in there, but with these, it painfully feels like they are bursting out of my skin / muscles. I have gained a lot less weight with the twins than I did with DD (running round after a toddler plus the extra energy needed to grow two...?) So it just feels like skin then an uncomfortable bony lump of baby!

In particular, there is one particular spot, big large in diameter, at the top of the bump, slightly to right, that is really painful, best way to describe us it feels like a bruise, or small (in size/spread) muscle pull.

DD was so easy to carry... This is to be expected is it?

Sorry, how confusing, the patch of pain at the top of the bump is NOT large in diameter... It's just one spot.

I would give your midwife a ring, no experience (20 weeks with my first) but if there's an area that feels like a bruise it could indicate something more serious. Probably not, don't panic, but maybe give them a call to be on the safe side.

I only had one, once, but I didn't experience what you describe.

I'm not noticing the same so I get checked over. I feel uncomfortable but not any pain.

I'm pregnancy with baby no2 (just 1) and everything is far more painful than the last time! My little girl was small and I always measured on the 9th centile now I'm on the 90%. I feel far more pregnant than I am (28 weeks). I have put all my aches and pains down to the fact I have to lift my little girl, never get chance to relax (as so much going on with work and house). I constantly have been getting tightening a since about 20 weeks. Midwife was not concerned, as long as the baby is moving (which it is, as it feels likes its beating up my insides). Every pregnancy is different and twins is even harder (my sister had twins and she had a little boy who was 2). Personally I would mention it to the mifwife when you next see her but otherwise try and rest and get your feet up as much as possible (I shall try taking my own advise too :-) ) xx

I had this. Felt like DS had bruised the inside of me. He was a big baby and very long. Not sure what caused it, maybe the way he was lying in there

Hi, just to say I am 30 weeks pregnant with my second ds and have been getting that same feeling of being bruised. It is not all the time, and I have put it down to the baby putting pressure on a paticular part of my stomach. If you are at all worried however, it is always best to check with midwife.
