Wail, even my feet are now fat

Am almost 38 weeks with DC2. DD was a winter baby. How the heck do you deal with the heat of summer this pregnant? My one redeeming feature - slim ankles and feet - are now so swollen and fat I can only wear Birkenstocks.

I so want to lounge on the sofa, drinking pints of ice cold G&T and having my every whim catered to.

I'm 30 weeks and hot with 'kankles'. I just look at them and think of that Argos advert with the pregnant alien and laugh to myself. Been spraying them with the cold shower a few times a day. Grin

bowl of cool water, stick feet in bowl - really helps!

3 summer babies including the SE heatwave of 2003 Smile

I have a speshial bowl for my feet lol - you gotta roll with it. I am loving the sunshine and can't wait to take my baby to the park!

36 weeks and despising the heat - my already large body has has freak like swollen hands and arms since 24 weeks ish and I am now living in df's flip flops as my feet are too fat and sweaty to wear my own :(

I was pregnant through the summer months in 2011 but I do not remember this grief from it :( it's becoming a flipping joke now.

I can handle upto 14ºC but any hotter and I just die.

Lovely DH took pity on the birds and has put out my bowl filled with water out for them. I was thinking what a kind lovely man he was until I realised that was for me feet!

Found a half finished can of spray water at the back of DD's cupboard from when I was in labour with her. Been spraying face and feet - such a relief even if it only lasts 5 minutes.

I agree anything above 14 degrees is bloody hideous. I live in Scotland FFS it shouldn't be this hot.

Bet it's cold and wet when DC arrives!

Scotland here too (north east coast) bloody ridiculous weather we're getting :(

The rain can come right up until dd2 arrives - I've went majorly overboard on linen dungarees and pinafores for some reason! Although the good scot I am there is a lot more jersey altogether than there is linen Grin

Sympathies. I remember this from DD1. I had been living in birkenstocks. Then we went away for the weekend to visit IL's. I fell asleep in the hot car for the 3 hour journey and when I woke I couldn't get them back on. Stopped off at a shoe shop and nothing would go near them. Too fat for sandals or flip flops. I even tried on old lady shoes but the velcro wouldn't stretch acorss. I ended up with a pair of ugly vans trainers with the laces undone. I hated those shoes
