Hi all,

I had a bleed a couple of weeks ago. The midwives put it down to having sex with DH. Then I had my 16wk check. All ok heard the heartbeat all good.

I am becoming a little anxious but worried I am being a bit bonkers.

I had been feeling little kicks and movement for the last few weeks generally in the evening. But this has slowed down to practically nothing over the last couple of days. Which is worrying. I have felt the odd occasional movement and a sort of pushing agains my stomach feeling. I know its super early to be feeling anything (18wks) also the weather is hot and the baby may have shifted position.

Has anyone else felt this am I turning into a basket case? This is my third Dc so really should be more blasé about all this pregnancy malarkey by now.

If you have a change in regular movement the advice is to I get checked out, call your maternity assessment unit and speak to one of the midwives x

You are still v early days so it's normal for baby's movements not to have a proper pattern - they are still small enough to move somewhere you can't feel them. That said, they do recommend you get it get checked out if you notice a change and no hospital will make you feel bad about going to get a scan. I did the same at about 22 weeks and the hospital were lovely, found the heartbeat straight away and made me feel much better.

Thanks. I had a bit more movement again last night. I am pretty sure it's the heat. I also made sure I drank loads if water yesterday which may have helped.

Think its just that horrible rational mind versus the irrational. Unfortunately the irrational wins.

I know how you feel Jam, I started feeling baby very slightly at about 17 weeks, but then had a week of nothing at all and panicked like mad! The midwife reassured me that it was simply because baby is still so little and because the placenta is a the front I'm not likely to feel regular movement quite yet, phew! I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and feeling kicks mostly in the evenings, but not every day. A m sure you've nothing to worry about, deep breath and talk to your midwife if you do still feel worried at all.
