My dates don't match up..!

Hi

I'm new here and just wanted some advice about my dates given by midwife and early scans.

I have my coil taken out on the 5th April and had one day of bleeding on the 25th April no proper period!

I took a home pregnancy test on the 16th may and it was positive (really chuffed about) I then had a scan on the 1st June at epu (history of 5 miscarriages and was bleeding rather heavily) and they saw a sac so went back on the 14th June and was told I was 7+5 days. Heartbeat was seen and all ok thankfully

My midwife has given me an edd of 30th Jan but my scan puts me at the 26th Jan and I'm not sure which is right! Just a bit confused as I have opted for nuchal scan which is booked for next week and think going by the dates I am a week early so scan will be a bit pointless if I'm only 11 weeks, or am I worrying over nothing and being a bit daft?

Can anyone help am I 11+5 or 10 +1?

You can have the nuchal scan from 11+3 onwards. The date they get from this is usually the one they will use.

If you're concerned that your scan will be too early, contact the hospital ultrasound dept and speak to them. I would tend to go with how your previous scans dated you, given that you can ovulate at different times in your cycle.

My dates changed a few times but they stuck with the one from my 12 week scan! I was only 11 weeks and 5 days because they changed the dates I had and they still managed to get all results they needed so try not to worry.
My midwife said they always tend to go with the dates they get from this scan so you should be given an accurate due date then xxx

It's not really going to be 100% possible to say (dating a pregnancy is an imprecise science). But where do you get 10+1 from on those dates (I get 11+1 or 11+5)?

If I were guessing, I'd say the 25th of April was implantation bleeding, which would put you at 11+1. That would also put you in the window of the scan accuracy (scans aren't precise to the day). Which would give your midwife's EDD.

Nuchal fold can be done from 11+2, which means your nuchal fold could be done tomorrow if your midwife has the right dates, or today if the scan is right (if you're 11+5). So next week is fine.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Flowers

Agree with Aetae, there's only 4 days difference between the scan and the midwife guess so that's 11+1 or 11+5 and really it doesn't matter which. They'll use dates from your scans to plan care and you're past the threshold for the nuchal scan either way.

Your pregnancy will last between 37 and 42 weeks assuming it's a normal and healthy pregnancy so the due date will remain a guide for scheduling appointments but your baby will be born between mid Jan and early Feb.

Congratulations.

Thank you think I've been a bit daft and counted wrong!
So I will still be ok for my nuchal scan that's what was worrying me as long as I'm within the dates for it I'm ok with that

Thank you again feel a lot better now

Yep. If it's next week, it doesn't matter if you're 11+1 or 11+5. The timing will still be fine :)
