Has anyone had a scan at 9 weeks?

I just got an appointment card through the door from my local maternity hospital asking me to come in for a scan in two weeks. This will be 10 weeks after my last period but as I have a 35 day cycle I think I'll only be 9 weeks pregnant. What will I be able to see? They also didn't give me any information on what I should do/ bring etc. does any one have any advice?

Yeah, the 2 weeks before ovulation are counted even though you're not technically pregnant. Because my cycle lasts 35 days I have 3 weeks before ovulation which is why they think I'm a week further on than I am. I didn't get any kind of letter or information with the appointment card, just an answer machine to call if I want to cancel my appointment. I haven't met with or even spoken to a midwife yet and tbh I don't want to cancel the scan as I'm a paranoid first timer and want some reassurance that things are at least ok so far!

Yes Robot I was taking into consideration the OP's cycle length, and the fact there are often a few days between ovulation and implantation. Hence I suspect the OP may find she is around 8 weeks which where I live would mean you got another scan 4 weeks later.

I'm glad about the additional scan and I think you're probably right about it not being quite 9 weeks if you go from implantation. I had fertility treatment however so know exactly when I ovulated (19 days after last period) and the scan is actually 10 weeks and 1 day after last period so maybe more like 8 and a half weeks? It seems weird to me that the hospital would be in touch so soon and yet I've heard nothing from the midwives. Isn't it usually the other way around?

Just another perspective, but our area only offers one scan at 11-12 weeks (unless you have no idea of dates, then they'll do a dating scan)
I wasn't suggesting you cancel the scan, just move it back a week :)

If you know when you ovulated, so are sure of your dates, I'd just give them a call and ask! You might find that if you go for this scan and you're only 9 weeks that they might not be able to do your scan at 12 weeks for the nuchal (if you want to do that)

Oh, and I didnt see my MW until about 13 weeks. It was GP at 6ish weeks, then letter fir scan (date based on LMP), then booking in just after my scan.
