This is my second pregnancy, I had only a few bh in the last couple of weeks of my first pregnancy and they werent really painful. I am now 18 weeks, and have been getting really sharp crampy pains over the last 3 days... kinda like a stitch but sharper... lasts about 30 seconds. Isnt it a bit early for bh? Not really sure what one is!! I have a low lying placenta and have had bleeding as a result, could it be related to this rather than a bh?

Hiya,

Could it just be pains caused by your uterus expanding? I got this a few times.

If you are at all worried phone your midwife or labour ward. That's what they are there for. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm at just the same stage as you and getting the same thing. But mine are not that frequent, so was just assuming that it was bits of me stretching. But agree with everyone else, just give the midwives a ring - they won't make you come in unless they think it's worth looking at a bit more.

If the pains stop when you've been lying down for a while but come back again when you're upo and about then chances are you are getting first symptoms of SPD or somehting related, rather than BH, I think. I had the same started at about 17 weeks and it was SPD, and I am now having physio.

Could be stretching pains. I had them quite bad at around 18-20 weeks, but if you're worried ask the MW
