Engaged at 31 weeks

Does it mean anything? Any experiences? I wasn't engaged with my daughter till 38 weeks. Is it normal to be engaged earlier with second? Or am I going to go early??? (Wishful thinking!)

I was fully engaged by 32 weeks with DS, he was born on his due date, sorry! I'd heard that second babies don't necessarily stay engaged, they can pop in and out throughout the third trimester as everything is bigger from previous pregnancy although not sure if that's just an old wives tale :)

I've just had my 31 week appointment (with my first baby) today too and was told the baby's head is 'very far down' in my pelvis. The MW seemed pleased and said it woudn't flip around now. I've come home and googled and it doesn't seem that there is a correlation between early engagement and early labour I'm afraid (although right now I'm happy about that).

My baby has been engaged since 31 weeks. I am now 38 with no signs or 'twinges' as they say. Sometimes I do get a lot of pressure down there, but nothing else.

Dd was engaged at 31 weeks. Wasn't born until 40 + 12. Sorry!

My baby's head engaged last week at 26 weeks. Huge panic and ordered onto immediate bed rest for 3 days. It has since moved back up a bit, but is still low and am now 27 weeks.

So they can move up a bit after being down low...

Awwww ok, still got my bum into gear and packed hospital bag and been mothercare for a few essentials I hadn't yet bought. Can't do any harm. The thought of a slightly early baby in this weather though is soooo nice.

Same here bb's head has been in my pelvis throughout my preg (31+5 today)- MW doesn't seem interested/concerned and has made no suggestion it could mean an early labour.
