Hi

Just wondering if any other of you ladies were havers lens with your tongue? I'm 29+4 and have what I can only describe like a burnt tongue with I'd incredibly painful, I've had it now for over a month but its really sensitive to hot and cold and bright red at the tip.

Never heard of this being. Preg symptom before??

Yeah, I did. Like I'd eaten way too many salt and vinegar crisps. More ulcers and slightly bleeding gums too. No idea why, so I'm not much use, but you're not alone! Mine was worst in the middle of my pregnancy, I'm at the end now and it's much better.

I have this! I find eating fruit makes it BURN! I had it in my first pregnancy too. My doctor thought it seemed odd so sent me off to the ENT hospital for them to have a look at. They seemed relatively bemused but not concerned, so I figured it was just one of those weird pregnancy things.

I usually get a sore tongue when my iron levels are low. Had it recently at 33 weeks, started taking Spatone (get the apple one as the other is vile) and hey presto it's gone. Get your levels checked. Mine were just under so it can happen even if you are slightly low. Failing that avoid salty or acidic foods. Good luck.

I've got exactly this at 8 weeks. Apparently it can be a symptom of oral thrush? I'm popping to Dr tomorrow to get it checked as it's really sore. Lets hope both our tongues are feeling better soon.

White furry spots can indicate thrush, if it's sore at other times that can be a classic symptom of anaemia.

If you're clumsy like me, my tongue's sore because I bit it at the back by accident and now have a huge ulcer!

Hope you find the answer and feel better soon!

Agree with low iron too. Spat one sorts it for me within a few days.

Spatone

Not the pain you describe but my tongue is covered in ulcers for the first time in about 10 years, I'm only 6 weeks as well.
